Community Service of
Real Estate Broker Debbie Ferrari

In December, 2007

Debbie Ferrari Named South Orange

County Volunteer of the Month

(Dec. '07) at www.SouthOCBuzz.com

Volunteer of the Month

Debbie Ferrari (R) with husband, Bill Koelzer
SouthOCBuzz.com said:
"When it comes to Orange County community service, Debbie Ferrari of San Clemente has all the high energy of the legendary sports car of the same name! That?s why we couldn?t be happier to select Realtor Debbie as our Honey Bee Volunteer of the Month winner. Debbie Ferrari is well connected in her local communities, with an impressive record of South Orange County community service."

A thirty year real estate veteran, Debbie was awarded the coveted "Volunteer of the Month" award, from SouthOCBuzz.  And that placed her picture on the cover of that popular South Orange County regional web site for all of December, 2007.  For the last week, her husband, Bill Koelzer, got to be in the picture WITH her.

Debbie Does Annual Fund Raising For the
Orange County Muscular Dystrophy Association

Debbie “in jail” for Muscular Distrophy.

Annually, Debbie allows herself to be “arrested” and put into “jail” by local volunteers of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA-Jerry’s Kids). She’s then required to collect “bail money” from friends, relatives and visitors to her web site.  Once donated, the money “springs her” from jail.  The two-month-long event requires many hours of her time and a prominent MDA presence on her nationally famous Realtor web site at www.DebbieFerrari.com.

Debbie was a Major Force Behind the
Marine Monument Project
Of San Clemente

Debbie and San Clemente City Councilman, Wayne Eggleston. They were
both on Wayne's select committee to plan and fund a San Clemente
Statue/Monument to honor the Marines at nearby Camp Pendleton.
The two are also board members of the Heritage Foundation of San
Clemente, dedicated to preserving San Clemente real estate, which is
of cultural and historic value to the community.

Chairman Wayne Eggleston, Vice President Debbie, and others worked two years to raise the $200,000 dedicated to the statue and the surrounding Park Semper Fi.

Realtor Debbie Ferrari receives a bronze mini-Marine statue from Mayor Wayne Eggleston in recognition of her service on the City's Marine Monument/Park Semper Fi Project.

Debbie, led by 2006 Mayor Wayne Eggleston, served many volunteer hours in this Marine Monument booth designed to raise money from community members and visitors to all downtown San Clemente major annual events. More than $200,000 was raised. You can still donate to the upkeep of Park Semper Fi by clicking HERE.

Committees to Save
And Restore the Casa Romantica

Case Romantica – The Villa of San Clemente’s Founder, now transformed from a crumbling hulk into a lovely city cultural center.  Debbie’s early work on the Casa Citizen’s Committee, and as a Board Member of the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation, helped save the Casa

Famous California Web Realtor (R) Debbie Ferrari with Greg Smith, retiring Executive Director of the Casa Romantica Cultural Center, prior to attending one of the Casa's winter musical performances.  Debbie served on one of the city's early committees to study the best uses for the then-crumbling Casa Romantica, home of Ole Hanson, founder of San Clemente, and she remains a Vice President of the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation, an early advocate of Casa renewal.  The Casa, now, mostly restored, is already proving its value as a quality venue for worthy community activities, meetings, charity events, and as an entertainment center.

Debbie’s San Clemente Recipe Cookbook
Earns Thousands of Dollars for
San Clemente’s Downtown Business Association To Help Beautify the Downtown

As a board member of the San Clemente Downtown Business Association,
(DBA), Debbie chaired the “Community Cookbook Project,” in which
residents were asked to compete for prizes for the best recipe in
various cooking categories.  The best recipies were published in
this cookbook which Debbie edited…. the top winner got a
$500 shopping spree.  The $15,000 budget was paid out in only two
months, and to date, book sales have proved a $35,000 profit for the
DBA.  The merchant group uses the funds for downtown beautification,
to help other charities, and for scholarships.

Debbie is an Active Board Member of the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation

Debbie, with Heritage of  San Clemente
Foundation President, Bill Koelzer

For eight years, Debbie Ferrari has been an active vice president and board member of the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation, one of the city’s most active non-profit groups which is a leader in getting things done in the community.

The Heritage Foundation was the major organization behind saving the Casa Romantica, the Cliffside home of the founder of San Clemente, from the bulldozer, and for turning it into a magnificently restored civic and cultural center for the entire community.

The Heritage Foundation also almost single-handedly raised the $200,000 to have a superb bronze statue of a Marine saluting the flag be erected in a brand new city park near San Clemente’s pier. More than 2,000 residents and scores of active duty Marines, including several generals, from nearby Marine Camp Pendleton, attended the dedication and statue unveiling on November 19, 2005.
